This song is maybe my most personal one ever, packing it full of everything I’ve learned since the day I stopped wearing worn out cords and started trying to dress like the Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night.

I’ve literally been looking forward to showing you this particular song for a few years. I’ve been working on music the whole Time I’ve been doing YouTube, getting everything ready for the magical day when I would release a new album.

Now everyone would see what I was really working on while it looked like my whole world was comic con and superhero movies.

I was ready to go in early 2020. My daughter isabel was born the previous summer. 2019 was really bumpy but my YouTube channel was soaring to 5 million subscribers, and I was ready to take my whole project to the next level.

Then pandemic lockdowns happened, My daughter was born with a liver condition that meant we had to be extra strict about isolation, and my momentum on Youtube never came back after things opened up.

I feel like I was on a journey from the time I started making my own comic books and selling them on the street, to the time when superhero Youtube videos became a big thing for me.

Then Life took me on a RollerCoaster ride.

The ride didn’t stop for a decade and now I’m walking out the ride’s exit, shocked at how nothing is where it was when I got on.

But even though I’m back in a world where nothing is certain, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been to share Art that expresses my true self. One recurring note of feedback i got while despairing over the state of my YouTube channel was to create content that’s more personal.

In the early days of my youtube success, a friend told me “I’m happy for you but I miss when The Sean Ward Show was your comics and live performances and autobiographical videos”.

I realized that I’d been pouring my heart into my songs this whole time without ever showing it to anyone, and that the messages I’d been encoding into the lyrics were more relevant and vital now than before.

I resumed work on my music behind the scenes, and lined up my songs in a series of singles that could take us through almost 2 years just with what’s already written.

And I hope that Z. Thrillington will keep you dancing and hyped up that whole time.

Summer 2023 is going to have a great soundtrack!

To keep your collection complete (and especially during this time of Personal upheaval and transformation), please check out the Monster Voices first-edition game bundle with my all-over-print monsters shirt. I drew hundreds of these creatures while my daughter was in hospital, so a portion of proceeds will be donated to SickKids Hospital.
